UAE Visa on Arrival for Eligible Filipino Travelers: What Changed in 2026
Filipino travelers received a useful new UAE entry option in June 2026, but the rule needs careful wording: this is not blanket visa-free entry for every Philippine passport holder, and the visa is not free.
On June 25, 2026, the United Arab Emirates announced that nationals of the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Kenya, and South Africa were being added to the visa-on-arrival framework for nationals of certain countries residing abroad.
Who can use the new route
The live UAE ICP service conditions currently list Philippine ordinary-passport holders and eligible family members who also hold a qualifying immigration document.
For documents issued by the United States, European Union, or United Kingdom, the ICP service card lists a valid visa, residence permit, or U.S. Green Card. For Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore, or New Zealand, it lists a valid residence permit.
The passport must be valid for at least six months.
14-day and 60-day options
The UAE announcement describes two categories for eligible travelers:
- a 14-day stay, which may be extended once for the same period;
- a 60-day single stay, which is not extendable.
The June announcement quoted an issuance fee of AED 100 for the 14-day category and AED 250 for the 60-day category. The current ICP service cards also show smart-service charges, so the final amount shown through the official service channel can be higher than the headline issuance fee.
This is why describing the new rule as a free visa on arrival would be inaccurate.
ICP also states that overstaying the permitted period can result in a fine of AED 50 for each day beyond the authorized stay.
What this means for Philippine passport holders
For a Filipino traveler who already holds the required qualifying document, the change can remove a significant piece of advance-visa friction when planning a short UAE visit.
It can be especially useful for Filipinos living, working, or studying in one of the qualifying countries, and for travelers who hold one of the qualifying U.S., EU, or UK documents listed by ICP.
Philippine citizenship alone does not create eligibility under this particular route. A traveler who does not meet the qualifying-document conditions should use the UAE visa process that applies to their own circumstances.
Before booking your trip
- Check that your Philippine passport is an ordinary passport and will remain valid for at least six months.
- Confirm that your visa, residence permit, or Green Card matches a category currently accepted by UAE ICP.
- Recheck the current ICP service conditions before departure because entry rules and service fees can change.
- Confirm boarding-document requirements with your airline before travelling.
- Carry the qualifying immigration document together with your passport.
- Check the final official service charge rather than relying only on the fee quoted in a news headline.
