Since 2011, iMzu Tours has operated more than 43,000 township tours and connected thousands more tourists with Cape Town's township communities enriching the lives of tourists, and by their presence, the material lives of the locals, because Mzu Lembeni, owner of iMzu Tours, believes in ‘sharing the love’. Having learnt what is possible through his own experience of growing up in a corrugated iron shack and starting his work life as a teenager working in a kitchen scullery, he has dedicated himself to empowering the township communities he calls home, by creating local jobs, and assisting enthusiastic locals in driving the townships forward and away from their apartheid history. Every Imzu Tour, whether on foot or by bicycle, highlights the humming lifestyle and pride that runs through the townships of Langa and Khayelitsha, showcasing what is possible.
